I was reading the news the other day and ran across a headline that caught my eye. Before Congress gave their buddies in the mortgage and banking industries the finances to pay huge severance packages, vacations and absurd purchases of luxury items for the CEO's, I told my wife and friends if Congress wanted to stimulate the economy they should give the money to the citizens. The money belongs to the people and it should be given to them to decide how to spend it. That would have stimulated the economy with far greater impact than paying for a few people who have spent their entire career stealing from the people in the first place. The headline was from October 12: An Economic Coup? Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. Wants Obama to Hire Every Unemployed American I have never been a Jesse Jackson fan, Jr, Sr, or the 4th. However, I have to say this is one of the smartest comments I have ever heard a politician utter. Our infrastructure is in the worst shape it has ever been in and hiring the unemployed to do this would be an awesome undertaking. It would mean jobs from the top architect, engineer right on down the line to laborers.
