In everyone's life, there is something that touches a heart string and it stays with you for the rest of your life. For both Janit and I it is our love of animals. Though we spend our life each day surrounded with our pets, they are members of our family.
A few really stand out and make impacts in and on your life that will change you as a human forever. For this, I can only hope and pray that during their lifetime with us, I was even half the human they expected me to be and deserved.

The first few picture are of Daisey Mae, her 7 puppies, and the two sisters we kept from the litter. Sadly Daisey, and Lucy Lou both died of Cancer 2 years apart.
We still have Bertha Butt one of Daisey's pups.

These are our current 4 legged children. Bertha is the only daughter we have left from Daisey Mae. She is the Rottie mix with the long tail. After Lucy's sudden death last year, Bretha Butt's biological sister, we purchased Siri, a full-blooded Rottweiler (Rottenwhiner). She was 5 months old when we got her and the previous owner had already docked her tail. Now she's just a generic dog with a nub. A nubber, looking for love. We call it nubbin when she wiggles it.
As you can see, she has had a tough time fitting in to the family. She picked her spot in the bed right in the center. Her head is on my pillow stretched out claiming her territory. At 18 months old she is now 2 inches taller at the shoulder than Bertha but Bertha out weights her by about 20 lbs. Bertha is now 10 yrs old. I have no doubt Siri will outweigh Bertha within the year.

Miss Aria, is our Cockatiel. We bought two, but Gizmo passed away unexpectantly for an unknown reason to us.
Aria is a very loving and affectionate little girl. She loves attention and her mom, but she is extremely partial to being near her dad.
Two cats, both were feral and have chosen us as their family. Sasquatch (Squatch) and the feral kitten he brought home Lucky Stripe love their lazy life here at the house.
It was about 2:00am and we could hear a kitten really making a lot noise outside. We have coyotes where we live and believed the kitten was in fact dinner. Suddenly Squatch went running at full speed down the driveway and disappeared into the night as he ran into the woods. The next morning when I looked out our bay window, I saw this on our front deck. I find it highly unusual that a Tom Cat would rush to the aid of a kitten in distress.
