New Everything

A lot has happened over the past month. We have been searching for a new vehicle and a new home. To begin with a new vehicle is a must. We are driving vehicles that are 13 and 15 years old and they are beginning to show signs of pending problems.
The Bonneville I now believe has a bad fuel pump. I have a brother-in-law that is a top rated mechanic that promised to look at it, but as usual my family is long on promises and short on follow through. I am going to have the fuel pump replaced and then we are going to give the car to a young couple that has a 2 yr. old daughter. They have been struggling to make it over the past year that Jan and I have known them and a vehicle would go a long way in helping them to become self sufficient.
The Windstar, surprisingly has become the main vehicle. However, the transmission that we paid $850 to Greg's Transmission to repair  less than 1 year ago is slipping like hell. DO NOT USE GREG'S TRANSMISSION in Durham, NC. They do shoddy work.
Anyway, we have been shopping for a new vehicle online. With 4 dogs, we agree we need a vehicle that allows for their comfort as well as ours. We have settled on a 2011 Toyota Sienna XLE. We have been having a few dealers compete for our business and are actually 1000's down from where we  were on the price when we started our search. Hopefully if all goes well we will be in the new vehicle by the middle of this month.
As for a new home we are having a problem deciding exactly where to look. Miss Jan wants to leave North Carolina regardless of the destination. We both have a desire to move closer to the beach, but Jan also wants to live closer to her children, or an area where her children visit more regularly. This has caused a bit of a conflict between us but I am sure a suitable compromise will be made.
